Photography Is Fun and other works

First camera I had was given to me by a photographer friend whose dog found it whilst rifling through some bushes. It had a dodgy lens so made everything look vaseline smeared and semi professional.  Soon after I started hanging out at Golden Shot with the big boys and before I knew it I was given a fancy digital camera by Chris Cooke.  I went through a whole series of old camera, then... I bought me own.  That one wore out through over excitement and lounging around at the bottom of my handbag.  When I reached a certain age my pals clubbed together and bought me an SLR, sadly it drowned in a water bottle way.  These days I am doing it the everyman way, I use me phone.

Laura Fishman - Private view tonight

BLUE GREY Paintings by LAURA FISHMAN opens the season this First Thursday, 2nd February, 6-9p.m.

Friday 3rd 12-7p.m. Saturday 4th/Sunday 5th Feb 11-7p.m.

THE OUTSIDE WORLD, 44 REDCHURCH STREET, E2 7DP

This is the first solo show of paintings by American born artist Laura Fishman. Her primary aim is to connect with her audience through multilayered explosions and explorations of colour and paint. Her scratched and scumbled canvases are wiped on, dripped, scraped and spattered to reveal a strange landscape inspired by nature, archaeology and the very painted surface itself. The balance of history and discovery leads the viewer into an archive of the accumulation of experience through colour and technique. Fishman graduated from Middlesex University with an MA in Fine Art and is founder of Creative Drawing Studio, North London.
